Life Transitions Therapy in Seattle, WA & Washington State
Change may be the only constant, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come without inherent struggles.
Life transitions can trigger all sorts of intense reactions. Fear, excitement, guilt, sadness, anger. It’s normal to experience the entire spectrum of emotions.
However, many people struggle to know how to cope or take care of these emotions. Instead, they might pretend they don’t exist. They might guilt themselves for having the emotions in the first place. They might even believe they can’t handle sitting with strong emotions.
All growth- even when it’s positive- can be stressful.
It’s so important that we honor the parts of us that feel afraid, insecure, or regretful when change happens. And yes, this applies even when the change is exciting and anticipated!
The change may be very meaningful toward your growth. For example, you may be leaving a toxic relationship. You may be finally starting your own business. Or, you may have started a family. And yet, even when everything falls into place, things may still feel unsettled or even disappointing. You might also worry about making a mistake or causing more harm to yourself or others.
Growth Can Also Be Abstract and Hard to Define
We grow when we decide to change parts of ourselves. You may decide you’re ready to start being more vulnerable in your relationship. You feel ready to talk about that trauma from your past. Or, perhaps, you want to start learning how to lean into self-compassion and self-acceptance.
These changes are less concrete and may seem less straightforward. But, they have an undeniable impact on your well-being. And they can still be hard- very hard.
Some of the more abstract types of change I specialize in include:
- Age-related changes, including perimenopause and menopause
- Breaking generational cycles
- Setting boundaries with yourself or others
- Coming to terms with a mental health diagnosis or embracing your neurodivergence
- Embodying important and/or underdeveloped parts of your identity
- Body Acceptance & Body Neutrality
- Meaning making after a loss
These types of changes don’t always have a defined beginning or end. But they affect who you are, and they can impact your emotional wellness.
Life transitions therapy can be immensely valuable as you navigate this growth and transition.
Some clients decide to seek emotional support when they feel stagnant in their lives. If this is you, you know something needs to change, even if you aren’t exactly sure what it is.
You may have already committed to making some changes on your own. Yet, you might not feel confident that you’ve taken the best steps. Seeking support at this point can be so helpful in reminding you that you don’t have to navigate this discomfort by yourself.
Therapy for life transitions allows you to explore your feelings, needs, and desires during this time. This is depth work, and while it can be challenging, it can also inspire you to live a life that brings you immense joy and satisfaction.
All sustainable growth starts with single steps.
It doesn’t matter if you’re still brainstorming a big change or if you’ve already taken that leap. It doesn’t matter if the change was planned or not. You still deserve support and guidance.
I hope that our therapy services can offer you exactly that. Contact me today to schedule a free 20-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit!

I’m currently accepting Premera and Lifewise insurance. If you’re interested in working together but don’t have one of those plans, that’s totally fine!
I offer out-of-network services, and I can provide you with billing information to submit to your insurance for reimbursement at their out-of-network rate. These are known as superbills. Depending on your insurance plan, you could get reimbursed for part or even all of your session fees.
Also, I work with Thrizer, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. HSA and FSA payments accepted. Don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to help you through the process!
*I offer a limited amount of reduced fee spots. If you would benefit, please directly ask if any spots are open.
